Madison, Wis – The Mallards won 3-2 on Memorial Day against the Chinooks in their first game of the 2022 season. The afternoon started off as a pitching duel between the teams, with no runs being scored until the bottom of the fourth inning where the Mallards jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Two late inning runs were not enough for the Chinooks to overcome a three run deficit as Mitch Mueller of the Mallards closed out the game.

Eric Chalus (L, 0-1) racked up eight strikeouts in five innings of work while giving up two earned runs during the Chinooks first road game this summer. Steady winds at Warner Field kept Chinook hitters honest as the team managed two runs on three total hits. Marcus Cline had two hits along with two RBIs leading all Chinook hitters for the afternoon. Victor Lara had the only other hit for the Chinooks in four at bats.

Both teams will play each other again tomorrow with the first pitch slated for 6:08pm at Warner Field in Madison.
