Wisconsin Rapids, WI – The mid-summer classic is in the books and the Great Plains division walked away with a victory over the Great Lakes division with a score of 4-2. The Chinooks were represented by four players: Matthew Deprey, Garrett Martin, Eric Chalus, and Mitch Mueller.
Matthew Deprey would start the game at catcher for the Great Lakes. He went 0-1 on the evening with a walk, the Great Lakes first base runner of the evening. Deprey remained in the game at catcher thru the first five innings.
Garrett Martin played the entire game, starting in right field. His All-Star night ended with him going 0-4 with four strikeouts. Martin almost connected with a solo home run that went just foul.
Chinooks closer, Mitch Mueller, was the second arm out of the bullpen for the Great Lakes. He went 0.2 innings with one strikeout, giving up no hits or runs.
Starting pitcher Eric Chalus would soon enter the game after Mueller. Chalus would also go 0.2 innings with one strikeout, one walk, giving up two runs.
The Chinooks all-stars will rest up on Wednesday before hitting the road for a two game road trip against the Traverse City Pit Spitters on Thursday and Friday then return home to Moonlight Graham Field at Kapco Park Saturday night.
