Lakeshore (5-5) squared off against the Kokomo Jackrabbits (5-5) on Wednesday night, looking to grab its second win in a row, but ultimately lost 4-1 at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The Chinooks committed five errors that proved to be detrimental as all four runs scored by the Jackrabbits were unearned.

Lakeshore struck first, scoring a run in the top of the second. With two outs, Luke Wroblewski drew a walk and stole second during a Drew Townsend at bat. Townsend would also be walked putting runners on first and second. Sam Meidenbauer singled to right field allowing Wroblewski to score from second, giving Lakeshore a 1-0 lead.

Kokomo would respond in the third inning tying up the game at one a piece. Elias Fiddler would hit a single to get himself on base. An error by Bahn on a pickoff throw to first would allow Fiddler to advance to third base. An RBI by Zack Carinci allowed Fiddler to score.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Jackrabbits took the lead. Jackson Horn singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. From there, an error scored Horn from second base, giving the Jackrabbits their first lead of the night at 2-1. They would retain that lead for the rest of the game.

Kokomo scored two more runs in both the seventh and eighth to claim this game as a victory. The Chinooks had seven hits tonight but were unable to capitalize on several scoring opportunities.

Meidenbauer went 2-for-3 on the night with one RBI, while Andy Nelson went 2-for-4 and Josh Overbeek went 2-for-5.

Jackson Bahn (L, 0-1), Lakeshore’s starter, gave up four hits and zero earned runs, striking out five in 6.2 innings of work.

Lakeshore continues their road trip as they face Kalamazoo (6-4) tomorrow at Homer Stryker Field at 5:35 p.m. CST.
