On a three-game losing skid, the Chinooks looked to pick up a win against the Rockers after dropping two games at home to Green Bay on Friday. Gradin Taschner got the start for the Chinooks and looked to shut down a Green Bay offense that produced nine runs on the Chinooks just two days ago. Ultimately, lakeshore lost this battle by a score of 3-2.

Green Bay struck first in this low-scoring contest with a home run off Taschner in the bottom of the third. Andrew Harris was the batter for the Rockers, who sent the ball deep to right field over the fence for the game’s first run. Jayson Jones had a similar idea to Harris, as he also had a long ball in the same inning. Jones smacked the ball to left field, giving the Rockers a 2-0 lead.

The Chinooks responded with a run of their own in the top of the fifth to cut the deficit in half. Adam Cootway got on base with a five-pitch walk. Cootway then stole second before he was sent home on an RBI double by Matthew Deprey. After the fourth inning, the Rocker’s lead was 2-1.

After the Chinooks came up empty in the top of the fifth, the Rockers added to their 2-1 lead with a run. Kendal Ewell got on base with a single and would eventually score after getting moved around the bases by JoJo Jackson and an AJ Anzai RBI.

The Chinooks’ last run of the game came off a JImmy Juergensen RBI single that sent Sam Hojnar home in the top of the eighth. Although, the Chinook’s two runs would not be enough to top Green Bay, who only scored three runs.

Taschner received the loss in this one and moves to 1-3 on the year. This is the Chinook’s fourth game loss in a row, with three of them being to the Rockers. The Chinooks will have a shot at redemption on Sunday with another 1:05 pm CST game.
