Mequon, Wis. — At the conclusion of the second inning, Friday’s game against the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders was suspended due to heavy fog that continuously loomed over the outfield.
When officials called the game the Chinooks trailed 4-1.
Unfortunately, the game did not begin until around 7:30 p.m. due to the fog, the same reasoning that cut Thursday night’s contest short after seven innings.
Ohio State freshman Nate Haberthier appeared helpless in the first half of the opening inning. A hit batter, stolen base and walk were all recorded before the first out was reached. Three runs for the Dock Spiders soon followed thanks in part to singles from Tavian Josenberger and McGwire Holbrook.
In familiar fashion, the Chinooks fought back earning one run of the bottom of the first. Veteran Griffin Doersching plated Lakeshore’s run on a dropped third strike.
Fond Du Lac answered again in the second with yet another, and Lakeshore was unable to retaliate when it was their chance to bat.
The Chinooks hit the road north to Green Bay Saturday for the first of two games against the Booyah, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

To note, the game will be finished at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28. Game two will be seven innings and will either start at 6:30 p.m. or 30 minutes after game one. Everyone in attendance at Friday’s game can redeem their tickets for any home regular-season game if they would like.
To do so, visit the Chinook’s box office or stop by Lakeshore’s front office at 938 Badger Cir., Grafton, Wisconsin.
