Many Lakeshore Chinooks were selected in the 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Ten players from 2012 and 2013 were chosen, as well as two from the 2014 Chinooks roster.
The earliest pick was outfielder and first baseman Mike Papi. He was picked 38th overall in the Competitive Balance Round A by the Cleveland Indians. Papi, a University of Virginia product, played for the Chinooks in 2013.

The Lakeshore Chinooks are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
