Despite solid defense, the Chinooks were defeated 1-0 versus the Mallards on Tuesday.

Right-hander Mike Letkewicz, a product of Augustana College, pitched six efficient innings. He gave up one run off three hits. He also had five strikeouts.

In the second, Madison scored their only run.  Letkewicz hit Trent Higginbothem, who advanced to second base on a wild pitch. He got to third on a groundout by Mallards designated-hitter Paul Dudek. Higginbothem scored on a single by Robbie Tenerowicz.

Garrett Brummett (Wichita State) relieved Letkewicz in the seventh. He pitched two innings and gave up one hit.

Lakeshore catcher Carter White (Memphis) went 2-3 in the game. He had two singles.

Madison starter AJ Bogucki (1-0) picked up his first win of the season. In four shutout innings, he surrendered four hits and struck out four. Both Tom Constand and Tim Black pitched two scoreless innings each. Black recorded his sixth save.  

The Chinooks travel to face the Kingfish on Wednesday and Thursday. They will also head to Wausau to take on the Woodchucks Friday and Saturday. The team will return home on Sunday, June 22 for a six-game home stand.
