Fond du Lac, Wisconsin – The Chinooks offense went quiet and failed to provide starting pitcher Jacob Lindemann with any run support. The Dock Spiders went on to snap the Chinooks winning streak with a 2-0 win.
Lindemann provided Lakeshore with a solid start, only allowing two runs over four innings of work. After early struggles looked to derail Lindemann season, the right-hander has settled into the starting rotation after his last couple of starts. While he hasn’t always thrown deep into games, Lindemann has consistently given the Chinooks five innings while allowing only a couple of runs. In each of his last seven appearances, he has lowered his ERA, which now sits at 5.88.
The Chinooks offense was unable to help Lindemann, only managing four hits against the Dock Spiders pitching staff. Jack Dunn and Drake Lubin, in his first game with the Chinooks this summer, both had a double, but were stranded on the basepaths. Christian Boulware and Dallas Beaver had the other two hits for the Chinooks in a silent day at the plate.
Luis Ferrer continued to be a fantastic option out of the Chinooks bullpen, throwing three innings of shutout baseball. He allowed no hits, but did walk two Dock Spiders hitters. The outing lowered his season ERA to 1.04 and he has now allowed only one run in his last 15 and 1/3 innings pitched.
The Dock Spiders became the first team to defeat the Chinooks in the second half of the season, snapping the six game winning streak for Lakeshore. Even with the loss, the Chinooks remain one of the hottest teams in the Northwoods League, winning 11 of their last 14 games.
Lakeshore will get a rematch with the Dock Spiders again tomorrow evening with the first pitch coming at 6:35 PM. Brendan McGuigan gets the start for the Chinooks as they look to get back to their winning ways. McGuigan, who has struggled in last couple of starts, is also looking to return to his early season form.
