The Madison Mallards have signed the following infielders to play on their inaugural squad:
Name School Ht & Wt Position Yr.

Josh Jezek U T Arlington, TX 6″3″ ? 205 1B/B-l SO.
Ryan Ruez UNLV, NV 5″10″ ? 185 SS/B-R FR.
Jake Brown, whose brother Dusty plays for the Mallards, played in the Northwoods League last year for the Mankato Mashers. He hit over .300 for the Mashers last year while starting nearly every game at third base for them. He is the only player currently on the Mallards roster to have played in the league last year, and the club will look to him for a lot of leadership.
Ruiz was a standout in the field this year for the Runnin? Rebels, and will be counted on to anchor the middle infield along with second-baseman Troy Doering this summer. Jezek brings good size, and switch hitting capabilities to the Mallards.
Pitcher Ryan Trytten, from Marshaltown JC in Iowa, who had committed to play for the Mallards this summer has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. Trytten was drafted out of high school last year in the 39th round by the Brewers as a draft and follow, and after a solid freshman campaign came to terms with the Brewers who retained his rights until this springs draft on June 4th. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Mallards play a 64 game schedule this summer with the first home game being June 2 at 7:05 vs. the Wausau Woodchucks. Season tickets are available now for only $150 now at the Mallards office at Warner Park.
