The Madison Mallards Inaugural Season MVP balloting on Mallardsbaseball.com resulted in a tie between Pitcher Rene Recio, and Outfielder Ryan Spilborghs. Here are the stats for each player:

Neither player has committed to returning to the Mallards next year as of yet due to pending draft status and offers to play in other summer leagues. Spilborghs finished third in the league with a .331 avg, was fourth with a .403 OBP, and was fourth with 13 doubles. Recio led the league with 98 SO, as well as filling in on many occasions in the field at several positions for the Mallards.

The Mallards 2002 season will open early in June at the Duck Pond at Warner Park.
