The results of the first annual Madison Mallards MVP online voting are in, and shortstop Dominic Ramos won a close vote to take home the award. Ramos, who has appeared in every game this season for the Mallards, is currently batting .216 and leads the team with 31 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. But statistics alone do not tell the entire story of Ramos?s worth to the team. ?Dominic personifies what the Madison Mallards are all about,? General Manager Vern Stenman said. ?He sets a great example for all to see with the effort and dedication he gives.? Ramos, who will be a sophomore at Southwest Texas State this fall, edged out second place finisher Cody Hall, who was a vital ingredient to the Mallards starting pitching staff this summer.
Hall, who will be a sophomore at the University of Baylor in the fall, had a 3-4 record with a 3.38 earned run average in 10 games, including 9 starts, for the Mallards. Opponents only hit .239 on the season off Hall in 53 1/3 innings pitched, which was third on the Mallards staff.
?Cody really had a great season,? Stenman said. ?He really improved and learned a lot this summer, which is what this Northwood?s League is all about.?

Final results of the MVP polls are as follows:

Dominic Ramos 26.5%
Cody Hall 19.8%
Bill Bernabei 15.2%
Brady Endl 12.3%
Kyle Anson 10.8%
Madison Edwards 7.7%
Jaime Martinez 4.2%
