The 2003 edition of Mallards baseball will have a strong Wisconsin flavor. A quartet of Wisconsinites will be a part of the Madison Mallards 2003 campaign. Brady Endl of UW-Whitewater, David Hrncirik of the University of Minnesota, Jon Olson of Butler University, and Mike Rohde of the University of New Orleans.

Brady Endl, a Junior at UW-Whitewater grew up in Jefferson, WI, was recently named Baseball America’s pre-season small college Player of the Year. Endl will return for his third stint as a Mallard and will be looked to for leadership, wins, and strikeouts. Endl holds several Mallards career-pitching records and will look to add to those totals.
Hrncirik, a Madison West High School Alumnus and University of Minnesota third basemen will be back for his second season with the Mallards. Hrncirik saw limited time in nine games with the Mallards last season but looks to crack the starting lineup in 2003. Hrncirik was a Second-Team All-State player and Big Eight Player of the Year.
Jon Olson from Butler University is a Kenosha native joining the Mallards for his first season. The hard-throwing right-handed Olson is expected to be a major contributor to the Mallards staff.
Mike Rohde from the University of New Orleans hails from Brookfield. Rohde was the 2002 State Player of the Year and led Brookfield Central High School to a State Championship. Rohde, an infielder, will bring a sweet swing and a winning attitude to the Duck Pond this season.
The Mallards look forward to seeing you out at the Duck Pond this summer. Stay tuned for more roster news.
