Latest roster addition is Peter White

Peter White, a 6?3? 190 lb. junior from UNLV, is the Mallards latest acquisition. The right-handed throwing infielder from Reno, Nev. is one of two players to start all 47 games for the Runnin? Rebels this season. In his first season with UNLV, White has stolen the starting shortstop spot from former Mallard and All-Northwoods team member Ryan Ruiz (2001). White, who is hitting .315 and third on the team with 47 runs, has helped UNLV jump into the rankings for the first time since 1996. The 35-12 Rebels are in first place in the Mountain West Conference and ranked No. 18 in the latest Baseball America Poll. The right-handed hitting White has proven he has pop in his bat knocking out 4 home runs to go with his 30 RBI. Before joining the Runnin? Rebels, White played at American River Junior College in Sacramento, Calif. He was named to the All-Conference team while helping the team to a 60-30 record in his two seasons at American River. White?s father Al played professionally in the Dodgers organization.

Mallards new Head Coach Darrell Handelsman is happy to welcome White to the Mallards.
?Peter is playing in a Top 20 program and he is a really solid and consistent player,? Handelsman said. ?He is a junior, so he is a veteran who has a chance to be a leader on our team. I?m excited and I look forward to having him here this summer.?
The Mallards home opener is Wednesday, June 11th at 7:05 vs. the St. Cloud River Bats. Mallards Season Tickets are currently available at the Mallards office for only $150 per seat, & single game tickets will go on sale in early May at The Duck Pond at Warner Park.
