Boone is final addition to the infield
Missouri infielder James Boone is the latest acquisition for the Madison Mallards. Boone becomes the seventh player from the Big 12 conference on the 2003 Mallards roster.
The freshman is hitting .255 with three home runs and 22 RBI in his first collegiate season. The 6?1?, 195-pound Boone has played in 37 games for the 34-18 Tigers. The Clinton, Okla. native hit .438 with 31 runs his senior year of high school. Boone was also perfect 15 for 15 on the baseball during his final prep season. Former Oakland Athletics star Carney Lansford is a relative of Boone?s. The latest signing gives the Mallards a total of eight infielders.
