Parenti, Sevigny and Larmore are latest acquisitions
Three more outfielders have agreed to play for the Madison Mallards this summer. Illinois? Joe Parenti, Baylor?s Kevin Sevigny and Marshall?s Francois Larmore are the most recent additions to the 2003 Mallards roster.
Parenti is a three-year starter for the Fighting Illini. His college teammate, pitcher Andy Sigerich, has also signed to play for the Mallards. This season, Parenti is hitting .236 with 22 runs and 18 RBI. The 6?1?, 200-pound junior has played in over 150 games in his college career and will be one of the more experienced players on this year?s Mallards squad.
Sevigny, along with Tyler Bullock and returning Mallard Cody Hall, is one of three Baylor Bears on the Mallards roster. He is a 5?10?, 190-pound freshman originally from Springvale, Maine. He is hitting .375 with a .583 slugging-percentage this season at Baylor. Sevigny was voted the No.1 Player in the state of Maine by Baseball America during his final year of high school.
Larmore is in his first season at Marshall after playing at Gloucester Community College (New Jersey) for two seasons. He was first on his team in three offensive categories this season, home runs (14), slugging-percentage (.628) and total bases (130). In his final season at Gloucester, Larmore was named Division III New Jersey Junior College Player of the Year. The left-handed hitting and left-handed throwing Larmore started all 54 games for the Thundering Herd this season.
The Mallards home opener is Wednesday, June 11th at 7:05 vs. the St. Cloud River Bats. Mallards Season Tickets are currently available at the Mallards office for only $150 per seat. Single game tickets are also now available at The Duck Pond at Warner Park.
