Three Pitchers Complete Roster
The Madison Mallards have signed John Flood from University of Illinois-Chicago, Andy Sigerich from the University of Illinois and D.J. Roshone from Iowa Western Community College. The latest acquisitions give the Mallards 13 pitchers on the 2003 roster.
After red-shirting during the 2003 season, Flood is 6-2 with a 3.68 earned run average for the Horizon League Champion UIC Flames. The 6’3″, 185-pound right-handed throwing freshman has started 10 games this season and is second on his team with 71 innings pitched.
Sigerich is in his first year at the University of Illinois after playing his freshman year at the University of Illinois-Chicago. At 6’9″, 230 pounds, Sigerich is easily the biggest player on the 2003 Mallards roster. In seven appearances this season, Sigerich was 1-0 for the Fighting Illini. His college teammate, outfielder Joe Parenti, has also signed to play for the Mallards this summer.
Originally from Papillion, Neb., D.J. Roshone recently completed his freshman season at Iowa Western CC. In nine appearances, Roshone was 1-2 with a 3.94 earned run average. The 6’4″, 185 pounder was a second-team All-State selection his senior year of high school in Nebraska.
The Mallards also announced today that Madison Edwards and Brady Endl have decided to take the summer off and will not be playing for the Mallards in 2003.
The Mallards home opener is Wednesday, June 11th at 7:05 vs. the St. Cloud River Bats. Mallards Season Tickets are currently available at the Mallards office for only $150 per seat. Single game tickets are also now available at The Duck Pond at Warner Park.
