Corey Cabral pitched seven innings of three-hit ball as the Madison Mallards dropped the St. Cloud River Bats 5-0 in a Northwoods League game Thursday night at Warner Park.

Cabral (1-1), a right-hander from San Jose State, struck out four and didn’t allow a walk in the victory in front of a crowd of 3,171.

Relievers Cody Hall of Baylor and John Flood of Illinois-Chicago each pitched perfect innings to preserve the shutout as the Mallards (7-3) won their fifth consecutive game.

Outfielder Francois Larmore went 2-for-2 to lead Madison’s 10-hit attack, and the Mallards continued to tear up the basepaths, stealing seven more bases without being caught.

Doug Beck had three steals, while Larmore and James Boone added two apiece for Madison, which is 50-for-56 on stolen bases this season.
