THE DUCK POND ? After coming back in dramatic fashion last night, what can the Mallards do for an encore? Win their seventh straight game for starters.

?Never count this team out,? exclaimed Mallards Manager Darrell Handelsman after his team scored three in the bottom of the ninth Friday night to beat Duluth 3-2. ?We always try and find a way to win.?

And win the Ducks have. The Mallards have won six in-a-row for the first time since the 2001 season, and they have pushed their record to five games over .500, a franchise best.

?This is the best group of guys I?ve ever coached,? continued Handelsman, ?and this is really special what we are doing in Madison.?

Besides catching the first place Mallards in action tonight, there are many other reasons to head to the ballpark.

Tonight is the Mounds Pet Food Warehouse ?Dogs on the Mound? Night. The first 1,000 kids 14 and under will receive a Mallards Frisbee courtesy of Mounds. Plus, if you bring your dog out to the ballpark tonight, he gets in for free as well as the person who is attached to his leash.

Additionally, the Duck Pond Concert Series, presented by Luther?s Blues and Budweiser, continues tonight as Johnny Rocker and the High Rollers perform before and after the game tonight on the all-new Great Dane Duck Blind. The band has a fresh new rockabilly sound and would sure bring the roof off the house, if we had one.

A large crowd is expected tonight. To order your tickets by phone, call 246-4277 or stop by the Mallards box office located at Warner Park. Game time is 7:05 with the gates opening at 5:45.
