WATERLOO, Iowa – Troy Harp and Kevin Sevigny were hit by pitches with the bases loaded in the sixth inning as the Madison Mallards extended their winning streak to five games with a 5-3 victory over the Waterloo Bucks in a Northwoods League game Sunday at Riverfront Stadium.

Shortstop Mike Rozema added a double, a home run and two RBIs for the Mallards (18-9), who moved one-half game ahead of Rochester in the South Division with five games left in the first half.

A crowd of 1,093 saw Madison open up an early 3-0 lead, only to watch the Bucks (10-17) tie it with a three-run fourth.

It stayed that way until the sixth, when reliever Justin Allred gave up a single to David Hrncirik to load the bases, then hit Harp to bring in the go-ahead run. Ashley Hooks relieved Allred, and plunked Sevigny to force in another run.
