WATERLOO, Iowa – Corey Cabral carried a shutout into the eighth inning, and Mike Rozema supplied a two-run triple as the Madison Mallards won their sixth straight game, beating the Waterloo Bucks 5-1 in a Northwoods League game watched by 2,013 Monday night at Riverfront Stadium.

The victory gave Madison (19-9) a 1-1/2 game lead over Rochester atop the South Division. Waterloo fell to 10-18.

Cabral (3-2) allowed six hits in eight innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Rozema’s triple off loser Zach Minor (1-3) sparked a three-run fifth inning.

Josh Wettlauffer went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mallards, while James Boone added a sacrifice fly.
