The Waterloo Bucks broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning and went on to defeat the South Division First Half Champion Madison Mallards. Bucks catcher Jeff Parrish led the offensive charge for Waterloo going three for five and knocking in two RBI and scoring two runs. Chase Huotari pitched three and two thirds innings in relief to pick up the win for the Bucks. Mallards starter Jon Olson allowed six runs on 10 hits in six and two thirds for the loss. Second baseman Doug Beck was one of the lone bright spots for the Mallards going three for five with a run scored. First baseman Tyler Bullock was two for four with an RBI.
A crowd of 4,383 watched the Mallards fall to 6-8 in the second half and 28-18 overall. The Bucks and Ducks play the second game of a two game series Thursday, July 24th at the Duck Pond.
