Last night, the Mallards found themselves in a tie ballgame through six innings, but could not answer after Jason Jirschele?s solo home run gave the Woodchucks a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 7th inning that they would not relinquish. Down by two runs going into the 5th inning, Doug Beck?s RBI double got the Mallards on the scoreboard, and Jay Johnson tied the game with a solo shot in the 6th.

The Mallards were limited to 6 hits in the contest, while pitcher Jon Olson picked up the loss for Madison. The Mallards (0-2) continue their 6 game road trip tonight against the St. Cloud River Bats (1-1).
