All the pieces are being put together by the Madison Mallards to win ballgames. Tonight the Mallards won their third straight game, crushing the Thunder Bay Border Cats, 7-2. Andy Sigerich almost duplicated his previous performance, recording a perfect game through five innings. Sigerich finished with six strikeouts, two hits, and gave up only one unearned run through seven innings. The 6?9? right-hander is now 3-0 on the season and has yet to give up an earned run this season. Jared Johnson pitched the final two innings for the Ducks, giving up only one unearned run on one hit.

The Mallards offense was clicking on all cylinders for the third straight game. The top four spots in the lineup smacked nine hits. Greg Thomson, Jay Johnson, and Jeff Bieker each had two hits, and cleanup man Ryan Rogowski had three hits. Rogowski also knocked in three RBIs while Bieker registered two.

The scoring started early for the Mallards as Jay Johnson scored on a two-out double off the bat of Rogowski in the first inning. The team did not look back from there as they scored three times in both the third and seventh innings.

The Mallards (10-8) will attempt to sweep their second straight series tomorrow night at 7:05 P.M. against the Thunder Bay Border Cats (9-10) at the Duck Pond. Tickets for all Mallards games are available online at www.mallardsbaseball.com, and at our office located at 2920 N. Sherman Ave.
