The Madison Mallards scored three times in the top half of the ninth and had the go-ahead run come to the plate. Unfortunately the tying run was left on first base, leaving the Mallards with a 6-4 defeat to Waterloo.

The Bucks scored three first inning runs off Mallards right-hander Ryan Zink and didn?t look back from there. Zink gave up five runs and struck out nine batters in seven and one-third innings. Third baseman Jordan Karnofsky gave the Bucks much needed insurance, as he belted a two-run home run in the eighth inning off Jared Johnson. That home run proved to be the difference, as Waterloo went on to win the game by a two run margin.

Ryan Rogowski and Chad Frk both went 2-5 with an RBI for the Mallards in a losing effort.

The Mallards (10-10) will try to salvage a series split tomorrow night at 7:05 PM in Waterloo against the Bucks (11-10). Tickets for all Mallards home games are available both online at, www.mallardsbaseball.com and at our office located at Warner Park.
