Ricky Bauer held a 2-1 lead going into the top half of eighth inning. Unfortunately for Bauer and the Mallards, he ran out of gas in the ninth, surrendering five runs. After throwing 139 unofficial pitches, Bauer was relieved by D.J. Roshone who recorded the last two outs of the game. By that time however, Rochester had a 7-2 lead, which proved to be the final score.

Bauer finished the game with seven strikeouts and three walks. Although he gave up five runs in the ninth, Bauer was able to keep the Mallards in the game until that point. The offense however couldn?t provide the right-hander with much of a lift.

Mike Rohde and Doug Beck provided most of the offense for the Mallards, as they each drove in one run. Both players went 1-3 on the night.

The Mallards (11-11) will try to split the series with Rochester tomorrow evening at 7:05 PM. Tickets for all Mallards games are available online at www.mallardsbaseball.com, and at our office located at 2920 N. Sherman Ave.
