Jake Eiler earned his third straight victory, and the Mallards offense provided more than enough support as they went on to beat the Rochester Honkers 6-2 Saturday at the Duck Pond.

Eiler pitched six and two third innings allowing only one earned run. Eiler struck out three batters and worked his way around eight hits and three walks to improve his record to 3-1. The Ducks got on the scoreboard early, taking a 1-0 lead after the first inning. After Rochester tied the game at one in the third, the Mallards exploded for three runs in the fourth and didn?t look back from there.

Jared Johnson started in right field giving Jay Johnson the night off. Johnson provided an offensive lift, going 2-4 with an RBI and one run scored. Ryan Rogowski continued to be productive, knocking in two runs and also stealing two bases. Thomas Berkery, Chad Frk, and Greg Thomson also had two hits apiece.

Andy Sigerich (3-0) takes the mound tomorrow, as the Mallards (12-11) travel to Rochester to take on the Honkers in a two game series. The Mallards return home on Tuesday to start a six game home stand. Tickets for all Mallards games are available online at www.mallardsbaseball.com, and at our office located at 2920 N. Sherman Ave.
