The South Division All-Stars scored early and often, amassing 12 runs on 17 hits, while holding the North Division to just four hits, as the South shutout the North in the midsummer NWL All-Star game in Wausau, 12-0.

The South scored three runs in each of the first three innings, and tallied three more over the final five innings. The North struggled to get anything going offensively, going hitless until the fifth inning.

Mallards? outfielders Ryan Rogowski, Greg Thomson, and Jay Johnson comprised the starting outfield for the South in the All-Star game. Thomson and Rogowski each went 1-for-3 from the plate. Johnson went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Mallards? third baseman Chad Frk was a productive 1-for-2, also with one RBI.

Andy Sigerich did not play due to tendonitis. Ryan Zink faced two batters, retiring both.

After a day off Thursday, the Mallards start a six-game road trip Friday in Duluth. The Mallards then travel to Thunder Bay, and Wausau. The Mallards return to Warner Park for a four-game homestand, beginning Thursday, July 22, as the Waterloo Bucks come to town in a two-game series. The Mallards then host the Wausau Woodchucks on July 24th and 25th. Tickets for all Mallards games are currently available online at www.mallardsbaseball.com and at our office located at 2920 N.
