With only five games remaining in the Northwoods League regular season, Madison Mallards playoff tickets are now available. The Mallards need to win the South Division Second-Half Championship to earn a playoff berth. The Mallards are currently in first place in the NWL South Division with a 21-7 record. The winner of the South Division Second-Half championship will take on the LaCrosse Loggers, the South Division First-Half Champions. The team with the better overall record will receive home-field advantage in the playoffs. The NWL playoffs start Tuesday, August 10 and run through Sunday, August 15.

If the Mallards make the NWL playoffs they are guaranteed at least one game at the Duck Pond with the possibility of four home playoff games. NWL playoffs consist of a three game Divisional Championship series followed by a three game League Championship series. Playoff series tickets for all four possible home games are on sale now. The cost for the playoff package is twenty-eight dollars for reserved seats and twenty-six dollars for bleacher reserved tickets. Playoff single-game tickets will go on sale Saturday, August 7 at 10 a.m. Single-game tickets are seven dollars for reserved seats, six dollars and fifty cents for bleacher reserved seats and six dollars for general admission. All Mallards playoff tickets are refundable.

Madison currently has a magic number of two, meaning any combination of Mallard wins and losses by the Waterloo Bucks equaling seven will clinch a second-half championship for the Mallards. The Mallards regular season ends Monday, August 9 on the road in Alexandria, Minn. The Mallards will open their final regular season home stand at the Duck Pond on Wednesday, August 4 at 1:05 p.m. The Mallards have night games Wednesday, August 4 through Saturday, August 7 starting at 7:05 p.m. For more information please call 608.246.4277 or log onto www.mallardsbaseball.com.
