The Madison Mallards baseball team is proud to announce that prior to Tuesday’s divisional playoff game against La Crosse, TDS and NSI will present checks to their respective charities in accordance to the Mallard’s effort throughout the 2004 season.

This year, the Mallards and TDS teamed up to help find the cause and a cure by supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). TDS donates twenty-five dollars to JDRF each time the Mallards stole a base during the 2004 season and one-hundred dollars for each stolen base on TDS night. So far this season, the Mallards have stolen 114 bases, tallying three-thousand dollars for JDRF.

In addition to teaming up with TDS, the Mallards worked with National Specialty Insurance and West Bend Mutual to help raise money for United Way of Dane County. NSI is donating twenty-five dollars to United Way for each Mallards run scored at home, and one-hundred dollars for each home run hit at home. With the Mallards scoring 142 runs, and hitting four home runs at Warner Park, United Way of Dane County will receive three-thousand nine-hundred fifty dollars.
