Several 2005 Mallards performed well this past weekend at their respective schools. Third-year Mallard Mike Rohde was named Big Ten Player of the Week after going 10 for 20 including a game-winning grand slam in the final inning of Illinois? win over Indiana. Rohde, a sophomore from Brookfield, Wis., is batting .442 in conference play in his first Big Ten season. He is currently batting .364 with three home runs and 26 RBI at Illinois this season. Here is a look at several other Mallards that had good weekend performances:

Maryland?s Dan Melvin has started all 43 games for the Terrapins and is batting .299. He is second on the team in runs (49) and doubles (15).

Returning Mallard Zach Peterson picked up his sixth win of the season after throwing 4.1 scoreless innings in a 4-3 win over Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne. He is 6-1, with a 3.70 ERA in 14 appearances.

Rohde?s teammate Ryan Rogowski has started all 36 games for Illinois and has 10 doubles, 34 runs and stolen 17 bases in 21 attempts.

Returner Nate Trumm was three for eight this weekend with three RBI as Northern Iowa took two out of three games from North Dakota State.

Iowa left-hander Tim Gudex recorded his fourth save in Big Ten play to lead the conference. Gudex also picked up his sixth win of the season. He is 6-3 with a 3.11 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 37.2 innings of work.
