The Madison Mallards are pleased to announce that Madison radio veteran Aaron Sims will be the public address announcer for the 2005 season. Sims, who served as the Mallards radio voice in 2004, will continue to do play-by-play for Mallards road games. Jordan Sherwood of Fox Sports Radio 100.5 FM will handle the play-by-play duties for Mallards home games.

Sims, who will be returning as the voice of the Mallards for a second season, has been a staple in the Madison sports scene since 1999. He has covered University of Wisconsin football, men?s basketball and men?s hockey and hosted his on sports talk show. Sims was also on the microphone for the Mallards first home game in the inaugural 2001 season.

?Aaron is a perfect fit for this job,? Mallards General Manager Vern Stenman said. ?Our fans our familiar with him and his knowledge of the game and his broadcasting experience make him the right person for our public address announcing job. We are confident he will continue to be the premiere voice in the Northwoods League.?

Sherwood, who has broadcast high school football and basketball for Good Karma broadcasting, will be in his first season with the Mallards. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Illinois and will provide a new perspective in the Mallards broadcast booth.

All 68 Madison Mallards 2005 home games can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 100.5 FM.
