Fresh off a trip to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Millington, TN with the Madison Area Technical College WolfPack, utility man Craig Nyborg will now wear a Mallards uniform the team announced Wednesday.

Nyborg led MATC in 2005 with six home runs, 51 runs scored and 50 runs batted in. He batted .333 for a MATC team which appeared in its first NJCAA World Series since moving up to Division II in 2000.

The MATC standout will be reunited with Mallards head coach C.J. Thieleke, his assistant coach at MATC.

?It will be great to add a hardnosed player that I?m familiar with to the team,? Thieleke said. ?I expect Craig to be a leader both on and off the field.?

Nyborg and his new teammates opened up the 2005 season with a 4-1 victory over the Mankato MoonDogs and will be back in action Thursday night against Mankato, sending 2003 Mallard returnee, Jake Hansen to the mound.
