Dick Allen will make his first ever guest appearance at the Duck Pond July 29 when the Mallards take on the La Crosse Loggers at 7:05 p.m., the Mallards announced Monday. Allen will be on hand throughout the evening to sign autographs behind the third base grandstand free of charge for all fans in attendance.

Allen, a seven-time All-Star played 15 seasons in the Majors and finished his career with 351 home runs. The 1964 Rookie of the Year with the Philadelphia Phillies led the league in home runs in 1972 (37) and 1974 (32). Allen also led the league in RBI in 1972, taking home the Most Valuable Player Award with the Chicago White Sox after narrowly missing out on the Triple Crown, finishing third in batting average despite hitting .308.

Allen played for the Philadelphia Phillies (1963-1969, 1975-1976), the St. Louis Cardinals (1970), the Los Angeles Dodgers (1971), the Chicago White Sox (1972-1974) and the Oakland A’s (1977).
