The Madison Mallards wasted a solid pitching performance by right-hander Nate Melek, falling 2-1 in the first game of a double-header against the Waterloo Bucks Tuesday night. The Mallards are currently a full game behind the first-place Rochester Honkers after the loss.

The Mallards jumped on the board first in the third inning, but the Bucks responded with a run in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 2-1 lead and that is how game one of the double-header would end.

The second game of the double-header is currently in progress and can be heard at mallardsradio.com or on Fox Sports Radio Madison 100.5 FM.
