The Duluth Huskies managed to work around a quality start from Jake Hansen and get to the Mallards bullpen, pulling out a 4-2 victory over the Ducks Monday night in Duluth.

Kris Rochelle provided most of the Mallards offense, knocking in both Mallard runs and collecting two of the team?s four hits.

Before Duluth took the lead in the seventh with a two-run single off the bat of Bryce Nimmo, Jake Hansen was nearly unhittable for Madison.

The Mallards all-star pitched six strong innings, allowing only two hits and two unearned runs. Mike Creevy took the loss for the Mallards, pitching two innings in relief of Hansen.

With Madison?s loss and a victory by the Waterloo Bucks over the Wisconsin Woodchucks, there is a three-way tie for first place in the South Division with all three teams having 5-3 records in the second-half.

The Mallards are back in action Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. in Eau Claire taking on the Express in the first of a two game series. The Mallards return home from their 17-day, 13-game road trip Friday to take on the La Crosse Loggers at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for all remaining Mallards home games are available both online, at www.mallardsbaseball.com, or by phone at 246.4277.
