While the 2005 season may be winding down, the Madison Mallards are heating up.
Ryan Rogowski and the Mallards offense pounded out 10 runs on 15 hits en route to a 10-3 victory over the La Crosse Loggers in front of 6,820 fans at the Duck Pond Friday night. Rogowski finished the game 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, his fourth of the season, in addition to scoring three times. In his last eight at bats, Rogowski has touched up opposing pitchers for seven hits.
Adam Mills provided the Mallards with another quality start, striking out seven in six innings of work, improving his record to 4-2.
Aside from Rogowski, three Mallards recorded multi-hit games, with Ryan Bond leading the way going 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Kelly Sweppenhiser and Dan Melvin each had two hits for the Ducks as well, as the team improved to 10-9 in the second-half and 33-20 overall.
The Mallards and Loggers hook up again Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Lefty Jake Hansen (4-1) is set to take to the mound for the Mallards, while La Crosse?s starter will be a game time decision.
