After winning four games in a row at home, the Madison Mallards saw their luck change after dropping the first of a two-game series by the score of 5-0 Sunday night in Wausau.

J.J. Hollenbeck of the Mallards pitched against the Woodchucks? Jay Buente through eight innings, with Buente bettering Hollenbeck. In his eight innings pitched, Hollenbeck struck out six batters while allowing only three earned runs. Buente had Mallards? hitters fooled all night, scattering seven hits while striking out five.

Offensively, the Mallards received multi-hit games from Mike Rohde, Randy Molina and Danny Dressman, who each recorded two singles. The seventh Mallards hit came from the bat of Ryan Rogowski who entered the game nine for his last twelve.

The Mallards (11-10) will try to split the series with the Woodchucks (12-9) Monday night sending Casey Baron to the mound to counter Wisconsin?s Craig Brookes.
