In a game in which the Mallards only managed to register four hits, scoring did not prove to be a problem, as Madison plated five runs en route to a 5-0 shutout over the Eau Claire Express Wednesday night at Warner Park in front of 5,521

Adam Mills was nearly flawless for the Mallards, pitching seven innings of four-hit baseball while striking out five and walking none.

Much of the Mallards offense came from Jordan Comadena, who knocked in two runs as and scored a run by stealing home in the fourth inning.

In addition to Comadena, Danny Dressman knocked in a run with a pinch hit single in the eighth inning. The other two Mallard hits came from Ryan Rogowski, who also added to his league lead in stolen bases, swiping two and increasing his total to 39 on the season.

After Mills departed the Mallards bullpen continued where he left off, as Burke Baldwin and Matt Petty each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

The Mallards (13-10) and Express (8-15) battle again tomorrow night, as the Mallards send Rick Rivas (5-2) to the mound to take on Thomas Eager (1-4) at 7:05 p.m. Great seats for tomorrow?s game are still available and can be purchased online at www.mallardsbaseball.com or by phone at 246.4277.
