Mallards? fans must now hold their breath for at least one more day, as the Mallards dropped a 3-2 decision to the Honkers Tuesday night in Rochester forcing a game three Wednesday with a trip to the NWL Championship Series on the line.

The Ducks battled all night long, fighting back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at two in the fourth inning with RBI singles from Ryan Bond and Will Vogl.

The game remained tied until the eighth inning when Matt Marek singled home Efren Navarro off Mallards reliever Tim Gudex to put the Honkers on top 3-2. Mike Rohde struck out with Ryan Rogowski stranded on first to end the game giving the Honkers the victory.

Rick Rivas started the game for the Mallards, pitching seven innings of four-hit baseball, allowing two earned runs while striking out six.

The Ducks out hit the Honkers 10-5 to no avail; with Bond, Rohde and Abe Aguirre each finishing with two hits apiece for the Mallards, who look to bounce back and win a trip to the NWL Championship Series Wednesday night at Mayo Field in Rochester at 7:05 p.m.
