The Madison Mallards open the 2006 Northwoods League season against the defending NWL Champion Thunder Bay Border Cats in a rematch of the league championship series at the Duck Pond on Thursday, June 1. The Mallards 2006 schedule features 68 regular season games, including 34 at the Duck Pond. The Mallards final regular season home game is Wednesday, August 9 against the Waterloo Bucks. The Mallards close the regular season in Duluth against the Duluth Huskies on Sunday, August 13. The 2006 NWL All-Star Game will be held in La Crosse, Wis. on Wednesday, July 12.

The 2006 Mallards schedule features 12 games against in-state rival Wisconsin, a home game on July 1 for Rhythm and Booms and a seven day stretch away from the Duck Pond in the middle of June. The Mallards play 14 home games in June, 14 home games in July and six home games in August. Madison was 27-9 at the Duck Pond in 2005.
