With the start of the college baseball season several returning Mallards players are already having success in 2006. Here is a look at three players that will be in Madison this summer and what they have done in their collegiate seasons thus far.

Infielder Dan Melvin started all three games at third base in Maryland?s weekend series against East Carolina. In the opening game of the series he scored the Terps only run in a 6-1 loss. Melvin was three for seven in Sunday?s doubleheader split with East Carolina with a pair of RBI.

Fellow returner right-handed pitcher Adam Mills picked up the victory in UNC-Charlotte?s season opening 11-2 win over Wake Forest. He went six innings allowing only one run on four hits with four strikeouts.

In Mills? season opening win fellow Mallard Kris Rochelle was behind the plate. In the second game of the doubleheader Rochelle was the DH for UNC-Charlotte. He was two for seven with two RBI in the doubleheader split with Wake Forest.
