With the first weekend of March now upon us it?s official; college baseball has swung into full gear. This past weekend the Mallards had all of their returning players in action for their respective teams. Be sure to check out the roster link on our home page to follow the players and their teams. Here is some stand out performances from this past weekend.

Infielder Mike Rohde started all three games for Illinois in their season opening series. He went six for 12 including five runs, one RBI and two walks. Rohde will be returning for his fourth season with the Mallards.

Right-handed pitcher Adam Mills (2-0) made his third start for UNC-Charlotte on Friday night. He went seven innings allowing four hits, no runs and four strikeouts. Mills ended up getting the win as the 49ers swept their weekend series against Indiana.

Mill?s teammate Kris Rochelle caught all three games for the 49ers this weekend. He went three for 12 with three runs, three RBI and three walks. Rochelle?s RBI in the third game ended up being the game winner, 11-10, in the 14th inning.

Infielder Ryan Bond started at second base in all four games for the Indiana State Sycamores this past weekend. He went four for 13 with two runs, four RBI and a walk.

Infielder Dan Melvin started all three games for Maryland over the weekend. He went three for 11 with a run scored and two walks. The Terps took the weekend series two games to one over Jacksonville.
