The Madison Mallards have added 250 new seats to the American Family Area at Duck Pond for the 2006 season. Located immediately behind the Mallards? bullpen down the left field line, the seats give fans a chance to get up close and personal with some of their favorite Mallards players while providing them with a great view of the game. These new bleachers will provide additional seating for fans purchasing general admission/standing room only tickets. It is conveniently located next to the Physician?s Plus Playground and the Meriter Fan Zone where kids can enjoy Maynard?s bounce house or test their arm on the speed pitch. Concession stands located along the third-base line are also easily accessible.
The new seating was installed Wednesday in an effort to provide Mallards fans with the best possible ballpark experience. A construction crane was used to lift the seats over the front gate of the Duck Pond and the Budweiser Solid Rock Rooftop and into the American Family area in left field. To make room for the seats a portion of the foul territory in deep left field was removed.
