On select dates in 2006 Mallards fans will have an opportunity to see their team take the field in an alternate jersey or uniform. Three nights this summer, the Mallards will suit up in Turn-Back-The-Clock style uniforms in tribute to the teams of Madison’s past. In addition, fans can catch the Mallards sporting hockey uniforms on June 2 as part of Newcastle Hockey night and camouflage jerseys on July 16 as part of Ducks Unlimited night. Select nights this season will also feature the team in a new-for-2006 green jersey (pictured below).
On June 16, the Mallards will sport the 1940s style uniforms of the old Madison Blues. The Blues played in Madison from 1940 to 1942 as members of the Three-I League. On July 14, the team will suit up in authentic Madison Muskies jerseys. The Muskies made their home in Madison from 1982 to 1993 and saw major league players like Scott Brosius, Walt Weiss and Jose Canseco come through. On August 8, the Mallards will take the field in Madison Senators jerseys. The Senators played in Madison from 1907 to 1914 and were the city?s first professional team,
Friday, June 2 is Newcastle hockey night at the Duck Pond and the Mallards will suit up for the occasion in official Mallards hockey uniforms. The first 1,000 fans will receive limited edition commemorative hockey pucks courtesy of Newcastle and fans will have the chance to participate in hockey style promotions throughout the night. Sunday, July 16 is Ducks Unlimited Night. Come out to the duck pond and catch the Mallards in camouflage jerseys. The first 500 fans will receive duck calls courtesy of Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to these promotions the Mallards will also be wearing an alternate green jersey (pictured below) for select home games in 2006. The jersey features the trademark Mallards script across the front and mallard head logo on the sleeve. The jerseys will also be worn for all Mallards road games. Fans can purchase their own green jersey at the souvenir stand behind home plate for 125 dollars.
