The Madison Mallards will look to rebound tonight, June 13 versus Eau Claire after dropping game one to the Express 3-1 Monday night before a crowd of 1,866 at Carson Park. The loss moved the Mallards into a first place tie with Rochester in the South Division, each with a record of 7-4. Eau Claire?s record improved to 6-5.

Eryk McConnell gets the start tonight in his first appearance with the Mallards. This spring with North Carolina State, McConnell went 7-6 with a 4.50 ERA in 16 appearances. He struck out 65 (second most on the team) while walking only 22.

McConnell will be opposed by Adam Ferrell for the Express. Last year for Eau Claire, Ferrell saw limited action due to injury. He pitched three innings, allowing three hits and one run. This spring for Ridgewater Community College, Ferrell pitched 23 innings striking out 20.

The Mallards return to the Duck Pond on Friday, June 16 to face the Duluth Huskies on the Neckerman Agency Madison Blues Turn-Back-the-Clock-Night. The Mallards will be sporting replica 1940s-style Madison Blues uniforms and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free replica Blues hat. Live Blues music, presented by Madison Magazine, will take place on the Great Dane Duck Blind pre- and post-game with Westside Andy.
