The Madison Mallards are pleased to announce the addition of right-handed pitcher Allan Donato to the team?s 30-man roster. Donato will be in uniform tonight, June 29, as the Mallards take on the Brainerd Blue Thunder in game two of a two-game set at the Duck Pond. The Mallards took game one last night by a score of 4-3.

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Donato has spent the past two seasons at Purdue University where as a true freshman in 2005, he appeared in 14 games, starting one of them. In 27-plus innings he posted a 4.32 ERA with 19 strikeouts.

This past season, as a sophomore, Donato went 3-0 in 13 appearances. Six of those appearances were starts. He allowed 26 earned runs in 41-plus innings, striking out 16 while walking 18.

Tonight is Newcastle Beer Stein Night. The first 1,000 fans 21 and over will receive Beer Steins courtesy of Newcastle. It is also PODS Let?s Make a Deal Night.
