Famous Footwear and the Madison Mallards are pleased to announce that outfielder Spencer Steedley is the “Famous Footwear Mallards Player of the Week” for the week ending July 1.

In all six games played by the Mallards over the week, Steedley hit for a .450 average ? nine hits in 20 at-bats ? and scored five runs while collecting seven RBI.

On Thursday, June 29, as the designated hitter, Steedley drove in all four Mallards runs in front of a home crowd of 6,443 (pictured left). He went 2-4 at the plate with one run scored as he batted himself and two base runners in with a home run to the right field porch, putting the Mallards up 4-3 and securing the win over the Brainerd Blue Thunder.

Over the week, the UNC-Charlotte junior hit 2-4 three different times, and 2-3 once.

Each Sunday, the Mallards and Famous Footwear honor a current member of the Mallards as the “Famous Footwear Mallards Player of the Week.”
