The Mallards are excited to announce two more players the team has signed for 2007, leaving only one roster spot remaining. Bios of these future Mallards are listed below.

Michael Hutts, LHP, So., Georgia Tech. Hutts is 1-1 in six relief appearances for the Yellow Jackets. He made four appearances as a freshman in 2006, including two in the ACC Tournament. He holds the Wesleyan High School (GA) records for career wins (27), strikeouts (236), innings (213), and ERA (2.03). Hutts pitched 22 innings in relief for the LaCrosse Loggers last summer.

Neil Medchill, 1B, Fr., Chandler-Gilbert C.C. Medchill is batting .463 with 39 RBI’s and 31 stolen bases in 47 games for the Blue Dragons in the Arizona Community College Association Conference. The ACCAC is a premier wooden bat league. He was drafted in the 30th round by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 2005 MLB Draft.

On Thursday, April 26, the Madison Mallards will be giving fans and the media a preview to the 2007 season with the Mallards First Pitch. The event will be held at the Great Dane Brew Pub downtown location starting at 1:00 p.m. Mallards Head Coach C.J. Thieleke and P.A. Announcer Aaron Sims will speak about the 2007 roster accompanied by a slideshow. General Manager Vern Stenman will follow with a presentation about improvements to the ballpark along with insight about the completed promotional schedule. A fan question and answer session will follow. Admission is free
to the public and appetizers, ballpark food, soda, and beer will be provided. Merchandise will also be available for purchase.

The Madison Mallards open the 2007 season against the Eau Claire Express on Thursday, May 31, 2007. Group and season tickets are on sale now. Single game tickets go on sale this Saturday, April 28.
