Future Mallard Daniel Webb sparked the Illini to a four-game weekend sweep over Indiana and extended his hitting streak to a career-best 17 games. The Illinois Junior outfielder scored three runs and had three RBI’s on six hits, increasing his batting average to .331. Webb will provide the Mallards with a dependable left-handed bat and can play either side of the outfield. Other future Mallards had noteworthy performances over the weekend are listed below (in alphabetical order).

Trevor Feeney, Jr., RHP, Northern Illinois. Feeney picked up his sixth win of the year after allowing three runs on six hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched during Friday’s 7-3 victory over Ball State. He lowered his ERA to 3.90 and continues to be the main workhorse for the Huskies, leading the team with 85.1 innings pitched.

Evan LeBlanc, So., OF, UC-Santa Clara. LeBlanc scored two runs and added an RBI on six hits in a three-game series versus San Diego last weekend. He upped his batting average to .297 and is a perfect 8 for 8 in stolen bases.

Chris Roberts, Fr., OF, Michigan State. Roberts scored four runs and had four RBI’s in a four-game series against Northwestern last weekend. The reigning Big Ten Player of the Week is now hitting .339 for the Spartans.

Travis Sweet, Jr., IF/OF, Iowa. Sweet scored four runs and had five RBI’s on four hits during a four-game set versus Purdue. He continues to lead the Hawkeyes in batting average (.413), doubles (13), slugging percentage (.637), and stolen bases (21).
