The Mallards on an upswing, winning their last four of five games, including three of the four games during their four-day homestand at the Duck Pond.

The latest win came by way of a comeback — the Bombers held a 2-0 lead in the third. Trevor Feeney (W, 3-3) took his third win of the season, pitching seven innings of work. He was replaced by Tom Stilson (pictured), who pitched a hitless inning. Madison rallied in the middle third of the game, producing runs in the fourth and fifth innings — one in the fourth and the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the fifth. The Mallards added another in the seventh, and Bubba O’Donnell (S, 10) came in for his first save since the All-Star Break.

Offensively, the usual suspects came through, as Jordan Comadena (2-for-4, 3B, R, 2 RBI), Brandon Wikoff (2-for-4, R, RBI) and Bobby Hubbard (3-for-4, RBI) all produced Mallards runs. Russell Harben and Adam Pasono each scored in the game.

With the win, the Mallards improved their second-half record to 5-7 (21-25 overall). Even better, with La Crosse and Waterloo dropping their games, Madison separates from the last spot in the standings even more and is now a contender to tie up with Waterloo — down just one game.
